KEEP THE TASK MOVING

Claude Code limit? Hand off the coding task

When Claude Code reaches a usage limit, hand the next coding agent the repository state, actual test output and one precise next task.

1. Save the useful context

In Claude Code, ask for this wrap-up if you can still send a message. Otherwise, write it yourself from the work you can copy.

Wrap up this job so I can continue in another coding agent. Include the goal, repository and branch, changed file names, current diff summary, commands actually run, test failures and the next safe edit. Separate completed work from proposals. Keep the useful text and source links. Do not include passwords, keys or personal details. End with one clear next action.

2. Make one handover link

  1. Open Zambo's Continue page using the button below.
  2. Paste the wrap-up or useful work into the text box. Add a short task title if helpful.
  3. Review the public-sharing notice. Remove anything private, then confirm and create your link.
  4. Copy the pickup prompt from the result page.

3. Pick up in another coding agent

Paste the pickup prompt into another coding agent. If it cannot open the link, copy the handover's public text into the chat.

Ask the next agent to inspect the current checkout before editing. Confirm its branch and working tree match the handover.

What moves, and what does not

Zambo carries the text you choose. It does not import your whole chat or prove that the work is correct. The link is public, so do not include confidential work.

Claude Code and other Claude surfaces can share usage. A new agent still needs its own repository permissions, environment and dependencies. Never paste credentials or a private repository's contents into a public handover.

Plan guidance checked 19 October 2026: official provider guidance. Features and limits can change.

Common questions

Does the handover give an agent repository access?

No. Grant repository access through your existing secure workflow. The public handover is only context.

How do I prevent repeated or conflicting edits?

Include the branch, changed files and tests already run. Tell the next agent to inspect the current diff before making changes.
